Description
Inhance Technologies’ ReciLoc® technology locks odors and contaminants in all grades of polyolefin post-consumer recycled resin (PCR), preventing migration into packaged contents and the environment which enables companies to safely use a broader range of PCR in their packaging. ReciLoc allows PCR-containing packaging to perform similarly to virgin plastic packaging, allowing more PCR resin grades to be utilized and increasing the use of recycled materials. These improvements will help many companies meet their PCR goals and commitments, while finding a second life for many tons of plastic.
Benefits
- Stops contaminant migration
- Expands use cases of PCR grades

Migration Testing
Migration of contaminants from the packaging to the product affects quality, compliance and customer experience. ReciLoc minimizes migration of all contaminants from PCR packaging, including Mixed Color grades and those that have obtained a Letter of No Objection (LNO) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Volatile Compound Testing
Volatile compounds from the packaging can affect the sensory attributes, such as odor and taste, of the product. Even the best-in-class PCR grades have room for improvement relative to virgin resins.
Conclusion
ReciLoc reduces the risk of product contamination and volatile compounds in Natural and Mixed Color PCR, therefore ensuring product and brand integrity. ReciLoc increases the use of recycled materials by enabling the safe use of Mixed Color PCR, maintaining recyclability and ensuring a low carbon footprint. Companies can meet longer term PCR goals and commitments with ReciLoc and enable a circular economy by finding a second life for tons of plastic.
